"The world's No.1 Internet social network said its total number of monthly active users reached 1.28 billion as of March 31, with 1.01 billion of those users accessing its service on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Facebook's users spent more time on its service, with roughly 62.7 percent of its monthly users accessing the site every day, compared to 59.9 percent in the year-ago period."

Cybersecurity, Healthcare
"Cyber criminals were getting paid $20 for health insurance credentials on some underground markets, compared with $1 to $2 for U.S. credit card numbers prior to the Target breach, according cybersecurity firm Dell SecureWorks."

"This past week, I bought 4,000 new followers on Twitter for the price of a cup of coffee. I picked up 4,000 friends on Facebook for the same $5 and, for a few dollars more, had half of them like a photo I shared on the site."

Wearable Computers
"Perhaps the biggest challenge for stand-alone wearables remains proving their long-term value to consumers. They’re certainly not mainstream yet. Some reports peg their usage at five percent of Americans, while others suggest an optimistic 15 percent. An online survey by Endeavour Partners last fall found that one in 10 of those above the age of 18 own an activity tracker. But the longer someone owns a tracker, the less he or she uses it. The research firm found that more than half of those consumers no longer use the devices, with a third dropping off within the first six months of ownership."

Mobile Devices, SmartPhones, Tablet PCs
"Although the heyday of the iPad -- when it basically owned the tablet computer market -- may be over, the product line is still Apple's (AAPL) second most important source of revenue, holding steady at roughly 20% of total sales. With growing competition and the rise of the phablet (mini-tablets that double as phones), nobody is expecting a repeat of Q2 2013, when sales grew 55% year over year."
